Just finished another 6 x6 in painting of Caer Caradoc during the last snow flurry.
Bodbury seen from New Pool Hollow. That’s looking back down the path to the reservoir.
Reworked the foreground of the Bodbury painting. Much happier with it now. Seem to be doing more of this recently. Things look different a couple of weeks on. Always caught between ‘ I can improve that’ and ‘move on, the next one will be better’!
Cardingmill Valley after some of our recent snow. 6 x 6ins.
Bodbury Ring hill fort and The Lawley seen from the Burway. 12 x 9 ins.
Just finishing a painting of Caer Caradoc in the snow, seen from the head of cwmdale.
The Lawley from Batch Valley, Church Stretton. 6 x 6ins.
Just finished a moody painting of Cardingmill Valley with mist covering the hills. Acrylic on canvas, 16 x 12 ins. You’d be hard pushed to see the valley empty at the moment though.
Stormy day over The Wrekin!
Three prints and one painting just delivered to the Ragleth Gallery in Church Stretton. Hopefully to become Xmas presents!
Another version of the Long Mynd hills painting. Less sombre and a looser style. 6 x 6ins.
A small, 6in x 6in, painting from a walk on the Long Mynd.
Fifth layer completed. Just remains to choose the best five and destroy the rest. Traditionally the blocks should be defaced as well so that the edition cannot be ‘extended’ in the future.
Another version of the gnarly old trees on Offas Dyke.
Today is a printing day, finishing the edition of ‘Snow, Cardingmill Valley’ that was selling so well before The Ragleth Gallery went into lockdown.
A quick painting in the garden.
Golf course has been closed so next best is – paint it. Acrylic, 8in x 6in.
The 18th hole at Church Stretton. Par 3. The tee is at the top of the hill, by the end of the path. Yes, playing over a fence and a public footpath!
Small painting, 9in x 6in, of haymaking somewhere near The Bridges a few years ago.
Haven’t done any charcoal drawing for a long time. Really enjoyed it, especially using a textured board rather than paper.
In the process of framing at the moment for possible entries into this years Bath Open. A watercolour and a charcoal drawing of tree roots in Batch Valley, All Stretton.
